Amy Yachimski Experience ABSOLUTELY EQUINE – absolutelyequine.com December 2003 to present I am in my fifth year as a self-employed horseback riding instructor, and am licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. I began my business at a small neighborhood barn and initiated a riding program acquiring 25 clients. When my business outgrew that location after only a year, I relocated to a larger barn where my client base grew to about 40 clients. In addition to hosting riding camps and open barn events, I have assisted in coordinating riding clinics and managing horse shows. The following provides additional detail of my equine business experience.

BEL CANTO FARMS, Dripping Springs, TX – belcantofarms.com November 2007 to February 2009 · Presently conducting a riding program providing instruction in Western and English Pleasure and introduction to fences, training, show coaching, school vacation camps and birthday parties. · Coordinated and hosted an Open Barn event designed to develop the lesson program and promote sale horses.
HASKINS FARM, Berkley, MA – haskinsfarm.net December 2004 to November 2007 · Conducted a riding program providing lessons in Western and English Pleasure and introduction to fences, training, school vacation programs and birthday party mini-lessons. · Hosted a local Girl Scout troop and a local elementary school field trip with a tour of various hands-on stations offering an introduction to horses including grooming, health and nutrition, breeds and markings, types of tack, jumping demonstrations, tour of the farm, horse shoe decorating and a mini lesson. · Played an integral part in the management of the 2007 Haskins Farm Horse Shows series including developing the content and design of the class list program, designed the trail course patterns for each show, and coordinated the year-end awards barbecue. · Coordinated and hosted two Open Barn events designed to develop the lesson business and promote sale horses. · Maintain web site content.
MY WAY FARM, Middleboro, MA Dec.ember2003—December 2004 · Initiated a riding program offering English and Western Pleasure lessons to all levels of riders, children and adults. · Hosted several school vacation riding programs and birthday party mini-lessons · Coordinated and hosted an Open Barn event designed to launch my lesson program. · Assisted with the training and showing of sale horses.
PINE HILL FARM, Taunton, MA 2002-2004 · Apprenticed under Suzanne Phillips during 2003 instructing riders at various riding levels and ages, children and adults, including group lessons. · Co-directed the 2003 and 2004 summer riding programs at Pine Hill Farm – two to three 1-week sessions held each year for children ranging from ages 5 to 12, at various levels of riding experience, beginner to intermediate. The program consisted of basic knowledge concerning barn management, general horse care, horse anatomy, and horsemanship skills, including grooming, tacking, leading, equitation, negotiating trail obstacles, trail rides, and a mock horse show. · Volunteered when the farm hosted 40 children, ages 5 to 15, from Girls, Inc. of Taunton, MA in 2002 and 2003 and 25 young teenagers from the YMCA in 2004. Conducted barn tours and educational seminars including riding demonstrations, grooming, horse anatomy, breed identification, health care and introductory riding lessons.
SOUTH SHORE HORSEMEN’S COUNCIL – sshconline.com Member since Nov. 2001 Show Manager, June 2007 · Managed two pleasure rings at SSHC’S all discipline benefit show held at Fieldstone Farm in Halifax, MA. Monitored the class schedule and resolved class conflicts and hold requests. Assisted in the setting up of the jump course and the post-show breakdown of the show grounds. Assisted with the design and content of the class list program, including procuring advertising sponsorships. Vice President and Treasurer, Oct. 2002 to Oct. 2005 · Managed the operation and finances of a 500 member non-profit organization, including all operating expenses associated with running 6 NEHC rated shows per year and a year-end awards banquet. Processed all accounts payable and receivable. Maintained the checkbook ledger and balance sheet. Produce monthly Treasurer Reports. Coordinated the preparation of state and federal income tax returns. Reported at monthly board meetings. Marketing/Advertising Coordinator, Sept. 2003 to Oct. 2005 · Directed the advertising and marketing campaigns for the year end awards banquet and show season. Managed the deliverables associated with the design and printing of the banquet program and show programs. Designed and maintained web site content.
